Her fourth solo exhibition at moniquemeloche, Carrie Schneider presents Moon Drawings, a new body of unique silver gelatin prints.
Created in North Carolina’s rural Blue Ridge Mountains, the series marks a full twenty-eight-day moon cycle of labor, during which the artist used a medium format 6×7 camera to photograph the night sky. Schneider exposed the same thirty rolls of film on a nightly basis, sometimes rewinding and shooting again multiple times in one night – resulting in approximately 300 unique images.
