Jessica Vaughn: Paperwork at Monique Meloche Gallery, Chicago
New York-based artist and Chicago native Jessica Vaughn as our spring on the wall artist.
In 2016 (and ongoing), Vaughn began gathering found lotto tickets from sidewalks in New York City. Inspired by the transactional and cyclical relationship between the monetary value of these tickets and the funding of public city institutions, Vaughn uses the tickets as a form to account for the unique physical trace of everyday occurrences in spaces she frequents.
